Bombay
Bombay is the second largest city in India and lies on the western coast on Salsette Island. Its electric atmosphere and cultural diversity are intangible. From ancient caves, historical landmarks, bustling bazaars and delicious street food to designer shopping, gourmet dining and a vibrant nightlife, the city offers a wide range of experiences.
With a history dating back to the 2nd century when various indigenous tribes occupied the islands, many empires including the Chalukyas, Mauryas, Marathas, Mughals, Portuguese and British ruled over the islands. In 1947, when India attained freedom, the city was developed into the country’s largest commercial and trading center.
